Key Blanks Index  I  DIY code reading for Jaguar high security key
Code Reading Jaguar "Tibbe" High Security Keys

1: We'll "read" the code from your key. Provide us with a good photo or scan of your existing key and we will be able to "read" its code (determine the code from the cuts). This service is FREE only in conjunction with an order for key cutting.
or 2: Do It Yourself! You can easily "read" the code from your own Jaguar "Tibbe" key. It takes about 5 minutes and all you need is good eyesight and a pen and paper! See here for details.

What to do for Option 1 (we'll read the code from your key)

Take photos or scans of your key, following as best you can our instructions below. Experience shows that a photo taken with a digital camera is the best method. Other options are - images taken on a scanner - and analog (conventional) photography (then scanned and converted to digital form if sending it by email).

What if I can't send a photo by email?

You can send conventional photos to us by airmail. See the
home page for our mailing address. Or choose the option of reading the code yourself.

Apart from the photos what other information do I need to provide?

Tell us the MODEL and YEAR OF MANUFACTURE of your Jaguar. We do NOT need the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number).

ONLY THE TIP NEEDS TO BE PHOTOGRAPHED
TOP VIEW (EITHER SIDE OF THE KEY WILL DO - THEY ARE IDENTICAL)

Background: avoid black or white, any mid color or gray tone is OK. Plain background is better than patterned (this one is painted wood but the one below of paper is better).

Focus: use a close-up or "macro" function on your camera to let you get close and stay in focus.

ANGLE VIEW TAKEN AT 45 DEGREES FROM TOP OR HORIZONTAL VIEW

By turning the key about 45 degrees on its side (you might need to hold the key or prop it in this position with something) we are able to better see the depth of cuts and confirm what the Top View is showing us.
